Position: Chair of the Board – Multi-Site Health & Wellness Group
Location: London (with occasional UK travel)
Remuneration: £90,000 per annum
Time Commitment: Approx. 3–4 days per month

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Chair of the Board to lead a private equity-backed, high-growth health & wellness group with multiple sites across the UK.

The Chair will provide strategic leadership to the Board and act as a trusted partner to the Chief Executive and senior team, ensuring the organisation delivers on its ambitious growth plans while maintaining operational excellence and a customer-first culture.

This is a pivotal role in guiding a dynamic, consumer-focused business through its next stage of expansion, acquisitions, and value creation.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Board in setting and executing the strategic vision for growth, ensuring alignment with investor objectives and market opportunities.

  • Provide strong governance, oversight, and challenge to the executive team, ensuring commercial discipline and risk management.

  • Act as a trusted partner to the CEO, supporting leadership development, succession planning, and senior team performance.

  • Bring deep insight into scaling multi-site consumer-facing businesses, with particular focus on growth, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.

  • Ensure Board discussions focus on creating long-term value, while balancing financial performance with customer and employee engagement.

  • Foster strong relationships with investors, financial partners, and key external stakeholders, ensuring confidence in business performance and future strategy.

  • Oversee potential M&A, site rollout, and new market opportunities, supporting successful integration and value capture.

Qualifications

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Chair, NED, or senior executive in a private equity-backed, multi-site, consumer-facing business.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving growth, value creation, and successful exits.

  • Excellent governance skills, with the ability to balance investor priorities and operational realities.

  • Deep understanding of scaling businesses, including operational efficiency, customer experience, and brand development.

  • Gravitas, credibility, and exceptional communication skills to inspire confidence at Board, investor, and market levels.

Desirable

  • Sector knowledge in health & wellness, leisure, hospitality, or retail.

  • Experience with M&A, site rollouts, or international expansion.

  • Strong London and national networks in private equity and consumer markets.
